Agamir Pathsala (Rural Primary Education)

Agamir Pathsal project has been started in January 2022 at 18 tribal villages in MD. Bazaar block of Birbhum district. The objective of this project is to achieve the learning goals in terms of basic literacy and numeracy skills. The mode of instruction of this project is bilingual, i.e. Santhali and Bengali.

Success Story

Habrapahari community centre had very little attendance when the project started. Many parents did not understand why they must send their children to study every day!

The community teachers visited them day after day, introducing them to the methodologies and arranging them to meet with the other children who were comparatively regular at the centre.

One of the students who became a regular in that student is Kamunu. Gradually her parents, Jubin and Singa also started accompanying their child, sat through the classes and finally asked for input so that they can follow similar methods at home.
